About Green Thumb Garden Centre

Green Thumb Garden Centre is a locally owned and operated retail garden centre located in the Nepean area of Ottawa.

Green Thumb Garden Centre was incorporated in 1989 and I have owned it since 1996. Our focus is on you and your garden. We are proud of what we carry. We only sell plants that are hardy to the Ottawa area – and before they go to your home, we will do our best to help you be sure the plants and accessories are suitable to you and your garden. Most of our woody perennial plants come with a guarantee. Whether at your home or at our garden centre, we will help you envision your gardening dream. Gardening can be an education – it’s ongoing learning.

We’ve always been in the ‘old’ Nepean area – we have been at 17 Tristan Court, SE of Merivale and Hunt Club, since 2005. Our move to owned premises is the best thing we could have done – we’ve never looked back! Although small in stature, we can have BIG plans with you for your garden.

Thankfully our staff come back year after year…we have employees that have been with Green Thumb since 1999 and some new recruits this year! Loads of familiar faces for you to see each and every year.

Recycled pots are still welcome but PLEASE only if we can use them. They should be 6” across or bigger and they can not have ANY writing on them. If we can’t use them – we have to send them to landfill…we don’t have the benefit of city waste pick up. Please do your part for the environment – check first, and if we can’t take your pots, please put them in your blue bin.
